Pregnancy and Birth
I was very fortunate to have the same midwife
for all of my pregnancies. I believe that this
continuity of care had a hugely positive impact on my mental health and subsequent births. I
became a Doula to offer the same continuous
support to pregnant women and their partners.
With the changes in the NHS in the last few years
it is even more important to have an advocate
who is able to provide you with evidence based
research in order to make decisions relating to
your birth. I support you with two antenatal visits,
throughout your labour however long and with
as many postnatal visits as you need.
Feeding and First Days
Having breastfed for 12 years and bottle fed
two foster babies I am well acquainted with
how different each feeding experience can be.
Each baby is unique and if your plan is to
breastfeed, I will support you as you begin a
rollercoaster journey with your baby. The first
days often pass in a blur and my aim is to
make those first few days and weeks a little bit
easier by proving what you need the most on
the day. Whether it's the opportunity to talk
through the birth experience, feeding advice,
time for a nap, help with a toddler or food and water!
Postnatal Support
The birth of a baby is also the birth of a mother - I understand that this can be a huge life change and can be overwhelming. Whether you need practical or emotional support throughout the first few weeks, I'm here to help with whatever you need most. I can also support mums with more than one child through the transition of adding a new little member to the family.

No two motherhood experiences are the same, and from pregnancy to birth and the support you'll need afterwards, what you'll find helpful will depend on your situation and experience. That's why I offer so much more than one-size-fits-all antenatal support, taking the time to get to know you and your story so that I can help as much as I can in the ways that will benefit you the most.
